Yarn and Hand Knit Garment Sale

We held our annual yarn sale and our first time ever, hand knit garment sale on Sept 11th, 2021. The 130+ knit garments were from the Class Samples and UFO’s that I had knit over several years. You probably remember that I finished 90+ UFO’s during 2020.

We had fabulous weather, lots of sales and a great turnout. We even had some that thought it was a yard sale and were looking for tools. While we had accessories available (needles, stoppers, markers, cable hooks...... we did not have hammers!

The day before we were very happy to hold our annual Christmas Potluck (missed it the year before due to COVID- 19). There was lots of great food and fun was had by all. I must admit that my strategy was for those that came would stay to help with the set up. They would also get first peek at the yarns and garments up for grabs. It worked!!!

We added to our tent that we use for our outside Knitting Therapy Classes. It was like a little tent city!!!

We all worked hard to get ready... stocking shelves, pricing the yarn, organizing the garments and making signs. Many thanks to Ann, Elizabeth D, Joanie, Kim, Liz, Marilyn, Vivienne, Thea, Sam, Zelda and Macko.

Thanks to Sam for being the "Gate Keeper" and making sure we had COVID - 19 Contact Tracing Information, sanitizer and masks for those that did not have one.

That's Beau in the picture, our white speed bump, making sure to keep us on our toes.

We also had samples on hand for the fall class schedule like thee Winding Down sweater by Heidi K and the Xiomara Mosaic Wrap by Mary-Ann Lammers.

Yes, sometimes knitters buy finished garments.

Jane is styling in the Weekend Jacket... one of her purchases

Grace, a first time customer, purchased the Cotton Diamond Cardi and it looks great on her.

One of several purchases

Pat and her son Mike (also a knitter) are looking for a new project... could Pat's be one with cables?

Which ones will I choose???

And we had lots and lots of yarn to choose from in many yarn weights, colours and sizes. The Katia Ombre Cotton Kits come with a pattern and are great for someone new to knitting. Along with the yarn sale prices we had discount yarn bins.

Special thanks to Vivienne, our own photographer for modelling, taking and editing a million pictures!

We had a table of garment accessories like hats, cowls, scarves, shawls and wraps.

I know some people started their Christmas shopping early.

We also had samples of some of the fall classes, kits ready to knit, lots of books and free printed patterns with yarn purchase.

Thank you to everyone who made the yarn and garment sale a huge success. We plan to do this again in the Spring of 2022.

Many thanks to you for supporting my small home-based business. I hope everyone enjoys their new outfits and yarn.

Happy and Productive Knitting

Gabriela
