March 2020

Hello happy people!

Yes, I’m a little behind on my weekly updates of my UFO challenge.

You know, life happens!

And it throws a wrench in the best laid plans…

But more on that later…

Now I want to tell you about Watershed, a lovely little romantic cardie with cap sleeves by Amy Swenson. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/watershed

Watershed is knit from the bottom edging up, with no seaming. Because of the small amounts of yardage, it’s the ideal pattern for making the most of that preciously perfect yarn.

I bought the yarn years ago from Connie at Pick Up Sticks and I think it was

Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage (for some reason I lost the label). A scrumptious tonal with great stitch definition.

Of course I started it right after I got home with the yarn (as I often do) and now years later, when I pulled it out of hibernation, I discovered that all I needed to do to finish it was the sleeve caps!!!!

Isn’t the lace detail lovely?

I had also just finished Hibiscus, a flowing skirt fitted with an elastic waistband, that flares at the knee thanks to a change in needle size.

I used Highland Alpaca Fino by SMC, a 50/50 blend of Alpaca and Andean Wool.

After blocking both pieces, I noticed that they go rather well together; YAY!!

So technically if anyone is keeping track (like my indispensable admin Elizabeth) these are UFO #10 and #11 and I am still ahead of the game…

Until next time, keep those needles clicking!

Happy and productive knitting and stay healthy!!!

Gabriela
