This was our very first Spring Yarn and Hand Knit Garment Sale. In preparation for the yarn and garment sale as well as our outdoor summer knitting we decided to expand our outdoor knitting lounge by adding a new area. My husband Chris, son Lance, and daughter- in - law to be Sam and I worked over a couple of weekends to add the cement blocks and put up the new tent. At past sales the set up was done the day before the sale however Chris, Lance, Sam and I decided to start getting ready early. We made good progress.
Then mother nature had other ideas, high winds toppled the tent and we had to start over. It seems the new knitting lounge is in a wind tunnel. Lesson learned, now the tent has weights for those windy days.
Because the tent flew away and in the interest of time we decided to go with a combination open air and tent market. Set up day was nice and sunny and we were able to get back on track. Marilyn and Thea worked their magic organizing the garments and accessories while Sam, Dianne, Annette and I stocked the shelves and finalized the yarn pricing.
We had fabulous weather on sale day. The vibe was that of an European Market place, with garments under one tent, books in another area, yarn in another space and a table of accessories like, hats, cowls, scarves, shawls and wraps. Ladies were checking out the garments and looking for the one that spoke to them. Others were looking for yarn for that special project or just because. Tools were stored by the check out that was managed by Zelda and Elizabeth. And for those that wanted one, Zelda made sure they got a free pattern with every purchase. Macko and his little friend Sparkey (who thinks he is the same size as Macko) had a great time playing in the market, while Beau, a.k.a "Senior" watched their antics. Chris was barbequing and the ladies were most impressed that they were being served food while shopping. He even provided tours of our beautiful property.
We had kits that are ready to start.
The Swizzle Cowl Kit featured here was knit in worsted weight, Evie Solid. 94% cotton, 6% nylon. It is an easy knit and makes a great gift.
The Ombre Kit is 100 % cotton, sport weight and was one of our popular sale items.
This was the first garment (shawl) Sam made when she was learning to knit. Beautiful Shawl and Model!!!
Lots of books and magazines. We had one customer that purchased over 20 books and magazines, I am thinking lots of knitting is going to be happening.
We sold many garments and accessories.
We have high quality yarn from lace weight to bulky in cotton, linen, silk, alpaca in all kinds of blends.
It was a most successful day and our take down crew had everything back in place in record time.
Thank you to everyone who made the yarn and garment sale a huge success.
Many thanks to you for supporting my small home-based business. I hope everyone enjoys their new garments, accessories, yarns and tools.
Our annual Fall Yarn and Hand Knit Garment Sale was held on October 5th 2022. Stay tuned.
Happy and Productive Knitting
